To assist the equine industry meet its OHS obligations, RALFS Consulting can undertake a review of your organisation’s approach to OHS management.
Health and safety inspections are a simple way of checking the workplace. Although they are simple, they are an extremely effective way of identifying things that are wrong and provide a means of fixing those things before a serious accident occurs.
The purpose of an OHSMS audit is to detect any gaps in your system by identifying strengths and opportunities for improvement. It includes a comprehensive report that aligns with the key performance areas against Australian Standard 4801:2001.
During the assessment our consultant will inspect all existing documents required by health and safety legislation such as risk assessments, policies, procedures and certificates concerning the testing of equipment.
Inspections of the following are included:
- Fire extinguishers/systems
- Site security
- Fire doors (where applicable)
- Chemicals
- Safety signs
- Lighting
- Slips and trips
- First aid arrangements
- Personal protective clothing and equipment
- Housekeeping
- Work equipment
- Computer equipment
- Portable equipment
- Vehicles/machinery (where applicable)
- Welfare arrangements
A report is compiled within three working days following the assessment. Serious problems are immediately notified.
